Why are you a member of Life Science Tennessee?

My name is Earl Hanna, and I am a risk advisor/insurance broker with Martin & Zerfoss. Prior to joining the agency, I worked for a pharmaceutical company that was highly invested in many disease states including Oncology. I witnessed the impact that Life Sciences had on research and development in bringing products to market that truly benefited patients’ quality of life and longevity. I developed a passion for the industry that continues as I have now transitioned into helping life science organizations identify their full range of risk that matter to their business and creating commercial insurance packages that solve for these challenges.

What is your company’s current expertise in the life science sector?

My expertise is working with life science organizations to develop commercial insurance packages that address their specific exposures. I enjoy advocating for the business and working with underwriters and carriers, that have an appetite for the Life Science market, to find quality/applicable coverage with competitive premiums. Additionally, I have good relationships with brokers in the excess/surplus market if we need to place coverage for an organization in a non-standard market.

Where do you think there is the most energy and opportunity in Tennessee and your region for life science innovations?

Nashville is growing! I believe there is optimism that TN can attract new/start up Life Science businesses. It would be an honor to help provide the coverages/protection these companies would need as well as with any established organizations the state has that would like support.

Are there any current policy issues that your company is passionate about or has a vetted interest in?

I am mainly interested in establishing relationships and listening to people about their business! I am excited to get involved with TN Life Science and learn where I can bring additional value. I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to meet for coffee! My contact number is 615 297-8500 and email address is [email protected].
